![]() ![]() ![]() Sasha’s favorite things about UREC are the exchange of ideas and collaboration that reach out to as many students as possible and developing student leaders. 3) Outdoor Adventures Route Setter will demonstrate critical thinking skills through planning the layout of routes and in planning the timing and risk management of setting on the Indoor Climbing Facility while it is open or the Rec Center is occupied. Her favorite activities include cooking, watching movies, hiking, flat water paddling, and learning new things. Sasha enjoys spending time with her siblings and getting them outside. She has three younger brothers, Hugh, Victor, and Jarod, as well as a younger sister, Alyssa. ![]() Sasha was born in Georgetown, Guyana but grew up in Winter Park, Florida. Sasha is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, the Association of Outdoor Recreation Education, and Association of Challenge Course Technology. Sasha earned her Master of Science degree studying Training and Development with an emphasis in Higher Education. She accepted the position at Texas A&M University-Commerce where she was able to not only start a Challenge Course program but also learn what it takes to run a trip program. Through her time at UCF, Sasha worked at the Recreation and Wellness Center and learned the “ropes” which helped her to move into a graduate assistantship upon graduation. Sasha graduated from University of Central Florida in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science having studied business, music, and recreation. Sasha is also currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Association of Outdoor Education and Education as the Chair for 2021-2022. Sasha Griffith (she,her,hers) joined the UREC Team in 2013 as the Coordinator and is now the Assistant Director for the Adventure & TEAM Programs. ![]()
